On September 16, 2026, the joint venture* led by Oriental Consultants Global Co., Ltd. as the managing company took part in the opening ceremony for the “LRT Jakarta Phase 1B (Velodrome to Manggarai Line) in Indonesia“, a project for which the joint venture provides construction supervision services.

This project is a 6.4 km construction works (including five elevated stations) that extends an existing line through the narrow, densely built-up urban area of Jakarta. Although it was a highly demanding project requiring an extremely tight construction schedule, the joint venture including OC Global, as the construction supervision consultant, worked in close coordination with every stakeholder, including the client and the contractors, to drive the project forward.

As a result, we achieved train running on the first station section within the short period of approximately 1 year from the commencement of construction, and also set the fastest record in the Republic of Indonesia for rapid construction. Furthermore, in a densely built-up urban environment we safely completed the construction of a highly challenging long-span bridge. Having achieved these and numerous other major milestones, we have now reached this opening ceremony.

The ceremony held to commemorate the opening of this line was graced by the attendance of Mr. Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Pramono Anung, Governor of the Special Capital Region of Jakarta, the Minister of Transportation of Indonesia, the Director General of Railways of the Ministry of Transportation, and many other central and regional government officials. At the ceremony, congratulatory remarks were delivered on the opening of the new line, together with warm words of appreciation for the efforts of everyone who led the project to success.

Plans for the future extension of this line include an extension from Manggarai Station to Dukuh Atas Station and, in the longer term, a northward extension to form an inner loop line. These will be entirely non-ODA projects, receiving no funding from international cooperation agencies or foreign assistance.

Drawing on the railway technology and project management experience we have cultivated around the world, OC Global will advance non-ODA projects while contributing to easing traffic congestion in Jakarta, improving convenience for local residents, and realizing an environmentally friendly transport society.
