JCOMM is a domestic conference that aims to provide administrative and practical support for mobility management (MM: a policy to promote the use of public transportation centered on communication) in Japan and technological development. It brings together researchers and experts working to solve public transportation issues.
With Bus Map Okinawa (led by Mr. Satoru Yatagai), Mr. Tsumura delivered a presentation at the poster session titled “Mobility Management Measures for Improving Awareness of ‘Public Transport Use x Road Safety’ Using Road Safety Awareness Bus Maps: From Practical Experience in Developing Countries.” This presentation is based on the results of pilot activities under the Project for Capacity Development for the realization of the Urban Transport Master Plan in Kinshasa City (PDTK) in the Democratic Republic of Congo, in which OC Global has been involved as a joint venture* leader. This initiative aims to improve users’ awareness of public transportation use and road safety, which were local issues, through mobility management measures that utilize bus maps.
