On September 3, 2026, the award ceremony for the 9th JAPAN Construction International Award was held at the Jiji Press Hall in Chuo City, Tokyo. Two projects in which Oriental Consultants Global Co., Ltd. (OC Global) was involved received the Commendation from the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT): the “Jabodebek Light Rail Transit Construction Project” in Indonesia, for which OC Global provided detailed design review and construction supervision, and the “National Road No.5 Improvement Project Middle Section” in Cambodia, for which OC Global provided design and construction supervision.

■Indonesia: Jabodebek Light Rail Transit (LRT) Construction Project
This project is part of the development of a public transportation network aimed at alleviating the worsening traffic congestion and transportation-related pollution in Jakarta. Indonesian President Joko Widodo enacted a Presidential Decree designating the project as a national strategic project, after which construction began in September 2015, and it was opened on August 28, 2023. The main line includes ten long-span bridges, among them the Kuningan Bridge with a maximum span of 148 meters. Since April 2017, OC Global has provided consulting services for the detailed design review, as well as construction and contract supervision of the project, supporting its smooth implementation.
The project has been highly acclaimed both domestically and internationally, having received the 2022 ACECC Civil Engineering Project Award, the 2023 Japan Society of Civil Engineers (JSCE) Award, and the FIDIC Asia-Pacific Awards 2025 MEGA Project Award.

■Cambodia: National Road No.5 Improvement Project Middle Section
In Cambodia, roads play a central role in transportation; however, the low pavement ratio of national roads and insufficient road widths had hindered the smooth flow of goods. Under this project, the 47-km section between Pursat and Pray Svay in the middle section of National Road No.5, Cambodia’s main trunk road and part of Asian Highway Route No.1 (AH1), which runs from the capital Phnom Penh to Poipet on the Thai border, was widened to four lanes and new bridges were constructed. This has significantly increased the road’s capacity for heavy vehicles and resolved the chronic congestion that had long been an issue.
