Bangkok, THAILAND – From November 26th to November 28th, Ms. Ayumi Koyama, Manager of the Urban Regional Development Division at Oriental Consultants Global Co., Ltd.,  spoke at the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC) Asia Pacific Conference 2023, held at the Millenium Hilton Hotel Bangkok.

FIDIC is a globally recognized federation of consultants founded in Belgium in 1913, covering various technical fields and operating from an independent and neutral standpoint. FIDIC engages in various activities, including issuing contract terms, capacity development for developing countries and young engineers, sustainability and quality management of projects, and the establishment and promotion of fair management systems.

FIDIC holds an annual World Congress and also organizes the FIDIC Asia Pacific Conference in the Asia-Pacific region. While web-based events have been prevalent due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this event marked a return to in-person gatherings, creating a thriving environment for sessions and networking. The theme of this conference was “Engineering Towards Net Zero.”

During the Transport session, Ayumi Koyama, under the topic “Engineering Benefitting to All,” presented a case study on Dhaka MRT Line-5 South, a project in which OC Global participates as a joint venture. She discussed how gender mainstreaming along with the promotion of gender equality and social inclusion are incorporated into engineering activities, and their positive impacts.

OC Global promotes efforts in gender mainstreaming and social inclusion in the projects it undertakes, contributing to the realization of an inclusive society where “no one is left behind”.
