Nacala, MOZAMBIQUE – On October 7, 2023, the opening ceremony of the “Nacala Port Development Project” was held. Oriental Consultants Global participated as the Joint Venture leader in the project. Oriental Consultants Global was involved in the detailed design, tender assistance, construction supervision, and other consulting services for the project.

The ceremony was attended by dignitaries from Mozambique, including President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi and Minister of Transport and Communications, Mr. Mateus Magala. Additionally, leaders from Zambia, an inland nation located in the industrial corridor, starting from Nacala Port, namely President Hakainde Hichilema, and from Malawi, another country connected to the Nacala Port-based industrial corridor, namely President Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera were in attendance.

As a result of this project, the newly developed container terminal is expected to play a significant role in regional economic development, serving as a key port in the Nacala Economic Corridor that connects not only Mozambique, but also the landlocked countries of Zambia and Malawi.
