JICA publishes a “Manga Version” of the project history, which summarizes the inspiring journey and achievements of Japan’s proud international cooperation projects in a way that is easily understandable for young people who will shape the future. Dr. Abe has also contributed to this manga version with her work titled “This is Our Metro!” In this event, the manga version’s authors introduced their experiences and struggles in the projects. During the lectures, the participants provided their comments via their smartphones after which the speakers responded immediately, fostering discussions on the spot.

Approximately 70 people, primarily students and young individuals, attended the event. During the dialogue session, when asked, “How do you handle difficulties encountered during overseas assignments?” Abe commented, “Consultants maintain a neutral position in carrying out projects for all stakeholders, including the local government, local residents, and construction companies, who are clients. I believe that a sense of balance and communication skills are essential.”
