Jakarta, INDONESIA – On November 2, 2023, Mr. Eiji Yonezawa, President and CEO of Oriental Consultants Global Co., Ltd. (OC Global), met with Mr. Mohammad Risal Wasal, Director-General of Railways of the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia.

OC Global is responsible for the design review, construction, and contract supervision of the Jabodebek LRT (Light Rail Transit) Project under the jurisdiction of the Directorate General of Railways of the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation, which commenced operations at the end of August of this year. During the meeting, Director General Mr. Risal expressed gratitude, and requested cooperation on the extension plan of Line 1 southward to Bogor.

Topics of discussion also included plans for railway construction in the new capital city of Nusantara; future railway plans in Makassar, South Sulawesi province; and transit-oriented development (TOD) around various stations of PT Kereta Api Indonesia, the state-owned railway operating company in Indonesia. Cooperation was also requested for these projects.

OC Global has been involved in various projects in Indonesia funded by JICA, including mass rapid transit (MRT) and railway construction, and rail facility development plans. In recent years, OC Global has been actively participating in LRT projects implemented by the Indonesian national and Jakarta Special Capital Region governments. We have established ourselves as a reliable partner in advancing rail projects in Indonesia, and remain committed to contributing to the development of the country.

OC Global is contributing to the reduction of CO2 emissions in the respective country (SDG 13) while ensuring safe and efficient infrastructure development (SDG 9).
