On August 4, 2026, Oriental Consultants Global Co., Ltd. (OC Global), together with Royal Haskoning (Haskoning Nederland B.V.), Haskoning Vietnam Company Limited, and Cuu Long Construction Consultancy Joint Stock Company, signed a contract with the Management Authority for Urban Railways (MAUR) for the “Consulting Services for Review of the Feasibility Study Report and Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) for Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Line 6 (Phu Huu – Ba Queo – Phu Lam Roundabout – Phu Huu), Phase 1 (Tan Son Nhat International Airport – Phu Huu).”

The Project is an urban railway project financed by the Ho Chi Minh City municipal budget. Royal Haskoning serves as the lead company of the joint venture, while OC Global, as a member of the joint venture, is responsible for reviewing the design of railway systems, including track, rolling stock, signaling, and power supply systems.

Phase 1 of Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Line 6 is a large-scale urban railway project with a total length of approximately 23 km, connecting the area around Tan Son Nhat International Airport with the Phu Huu area, and is planned as an important part of the city’s urban railway network. As one of the major public transport corridors connecting the city with the airport, the line is expected to support the mobility of residents and visitors while contributing to the enhancement of Ho Chi Minh City’s urban transport network. In the future, the line will connect with the Thu Thiem – Long Thanh Railway in the Phu Huu area, linking Tan Son Nhat International Airport and Long Thanh International Airport by rail.

In recent years, transportation infrastructure development in Vietnam, including urban railway projects, has increasingly been promoted using domestic public budgets and private-sector financing. Against this backdrop, this contract marks OC Global’s first consulting services contract for an urban railway project in Vietnam financed by the country’s domestic public budget.

Building on this contract, OC Global will further expand its track record in non-ODA urban railway projects in Vietnam and continue to contribute to the development of sustainable urban transport networks and urban development in Ho Chi Minh City and throughout Vietnam.
