MoU Signed for Joint R&D on Big Data Utilization with the Faculty of Engineering, University of Indonesia (Universitas Indonesia) and LocationMind Inc.

Oriental Consultants Global Co., Ltd.  signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on joint research and development related to big data utilization with the Faculty of Engineering, University of Indonesia (Universitas Indonesia), and LocationMind Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and CEO: Naoki Kiritani). on March 11, 2026, at the University of Indonesia campus in Depok, West Java, Indonesia.

This MoU aims to promote joint initiatives, leveraging the respective strengths of each party, toward long-term mobility improvement in Indonesia, including technology development related to the utilization of big data, collaboration with stakeholders, and pilot implementation in the urban and transportation sectors.

At the signing ceremony, in the presence of Mr. Toshimasa Kawasaki, Counsellor for Overseas Transport Projects, Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), and Prof. Dr. Kemas Ridwan Kurniawan, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Indonesia, Mr. Yuma Tsumura, Manager of the Transport Planning & ICT Department, Planning Division of OC Global, delivered a presentation and shared the direction for future joint research and development.

Under this MoU, OC Global will collaborate with both parties to lead technical studies toward implementation in the urban and transportation sectors, business development, and social implementation. This initiative was carried out as part of the MLIT’s “FY2025 Study on the Utilization of Japanese Technologies Related to Transportation Big Data.”

University of Indonesia is one of Indonesia’s leading comprehensive universities, with its origins dating back to 1849. The Transportation Laboratory of the Faculty of Engineering, which will collaborate under this Mo U, serves as a core research hub responsible for both education, research, and practical work in the transportation sector in Indonesia. In addition, LocationMind Inc. is a geospatial AI company originating from the University of Tokyo and a leading startup in Japan’s geospatial information field, providing advanced processing of location-based big data and integrated analysis services of geospatial data.

 

OC Global will contribute to the development of sustainable and people-centered urban environments by applying the latest digital technologies to mobility improvement projects undertaken in developing countries.
