Over three seminars, Hiroshige provided the overview and presented the results of the model demonstration study for the recovery project for degraded pastures in Brazil which was launched in April this year in collaboration with Japanese companies and governments of Japan and Brazil.: The first seminar was hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan on November 15 while the second was hosted by the Ministry of the Environment of Japan on November 17, and the third was held in the Agri Zone.
The seminars were attended not only by representatives of Japanese ministries and private sectors but also by officials from the Brazil’s Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply (MAPA). Participants responded positively to the demonstration results, expressing expectations for further expansion of Japan–Brazil public–private collaboration in restoring degraded pastureland in Brazil.
In addition, at a separate COP30 side event, a memorandum confirming the implementation of the aforementioned project was signed by the Minister of Agriculture of Brazil, the President of Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (EMBRAPA), and JICA Vice President Miyazaki, based on the “Japan-Brazil Green Partnership Initiative.”
OC Global continues to leverage its technical expertise and experience to contribute to achieving Japan’s long-term climate goal of carbon neutrality by 2050.
