OC Global CEO & President Eiji Yonezawa Speaks at the Japan Railway Seminar Held in Uzbekistan

On October 21, 2025, the Japan Railway Seminar was held at Tashkent State Transport University, where Eiji Yonezawa, CEO & President of Oriental Consultants Global Co., Ltd. (OC Global), delivered a presentation. The seminar, attended by officials from the Government of Uzbekistan as well as professors and students from Tashkent State Transport University, was organized to share Japan’s experience in railway development as a reference for the national railway enhancement plan in Uzbekistan. The event was held in response to a request from senior executives of Uzbekistan Railways through the Japan Uzbekistan Silk Road Foundation.

Uzbekistan, home to Tashkent, the largest city in Central Asia, as well as the historically significant and beautiful Silk Road cities of Samarkand and Bukhara, is attracting growing expectations for rapid future development. The seminar featured presentations introducing Japan’s railway network development and the concept of Transit Oriented Development (TOD). Following a presentation titled “The History and Current State of Japan’s Railway Development” by Professor Emeritus Shigeru Morichi of the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies and another titled “The Hankyu-Style TOD Business Model” by Masayoshi Uemura, Senior Managing Director of Hankyu Corporation, OC Global President Yonezawa delivered a presentation on “Japan’s Technical Cooperation in Railway Sector and the Role of OC Global.”

In Uzbekistan, OC Global is currently engaged in projects in the energy, transportation, and hospital construction sectors, while also exploring urban development initiatives from the perspective of smart city planning. Building on the opportunity presented by the Japan Railway Seminar, the company will continue to contribute to the country’s development and to the strengthening of bilateral cooperation through the implementation of projects not only in the railway and TOD sectors but also across a wide range of fields.
