Dhaka, BANGLADESH – On July 2, 2025, a memorial ceremony was held in the Dhaka Metro Rail Urban Railway Exhibition and Information Center to remember the victims of the Dhaka terrorist attack, which occurred nine years ago.

At the ceremony, Ms. Katsura Miyazaki, Executive Senior Vice President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and Mr. Hideo Ishizuki, the Director-General of the International Cooperation Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, offered their words of tribute. Representing Bangladesh, the Director General of the East Asia and Pacific Wing of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; the Managing Director of the Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited; the Additional Secretary of the Economic Relations Division; and the Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges attended the ceremony and offered their words of tribute.

Ahead of the ceremony, Mr. Yonezawa offered flowers at the site where the attack occurred.
