Oriental Consultants Global Co., Ltd. (OC Global, Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Eiji Yonezawa) has pledged its support for the Ukraine Donation Project implemented by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and has contributed 500,000 yen to the initiative. JICA utilizes these funds to organize job-matching events between Ukrainian refugees residing in Japan and Japanese companies, as well as to provide training programs for Ukrainian refugees. OC Global is also actively participating in these initiatives.

Following the 2022 Invasion of Ukraine by Russia, approximately 2,000 Ukrainians* have evacuated to Japan. Additionally, many Ukrainian students who were studying in Japan have been unable to return to their home country and are staying in Japan out of necessity. JICA is implementing initiatives aimed at developing human resources who can contribute to Ukraine’s recovery and reconstruction from a long-term perspective.

On September 6, 2024, a job-matching event was held at the JICA Yokohama Center, bringing together 13 Japanese companies with an interest in Ukraine and approximately 60 Ukrainian refugees residing in Japan. OC Global also hosted a booth where many Ukrainian refugees expressed interest in corporate training opportunities at OC Global. In December, OC Global welcomed three trainees selected from among those who expressed interest, each undergoing a two-week training program at the company’s Tokyo headquarters.
