OC Global Employees Speak at the 5th JICA × ECFA Sustainability Forum Contributing to Discussions on Gender Mainstreaming Practices in the Urban and Transport Sectors
On Thursday, November 28, 2024, Mr. Yuma Tsumura, Manager of the Transport Planning & ICT Department, Planning Division, and Ms. Ayumi Koyama, Manager of the Strategic Solutions Development, Global Solutions Division, of Oriental Consultants Global Co., Ltd. (OC Global), participated as online speakers at the 5th JICA × ECFA Sustainability Forum.

The forum, co-hosted by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Engineering and Consulting Firms Association, Japan (ECFA), marked its fifth iteration. In this year’s forum, experts from JICA, the Asian Development Bank (ADB), and others took the stage to discuss initiatives to promote gender mainstreaming in developing countries. Mr. Tsumura and Ms. Koyama delivered a presentation titled “Private Company Initiatives: Walking in Her Shoes—The Intersection of Gender and Mobility in Developing Countries.” They discussed efforts to promote gender mainstreaming in the urban and transport sectors, sharing examples and challenges from projects in the urban transport field in the Asia region that incorporated gender perspectives. Their presentation also included specific examples and proposals for solutions aimed at achieving sustainable development.
