OC Global Engineer Speaks at the PICE Convention Introducing Map Information Cloud Service “SOCOCA” at the Exhibition Booth
From October 29th to 31st, 2024, the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE)’s National Convention and Technical Conference were held at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, Philippines. Dr. Harukazu Ohashi, Principal Consultant of the Road Transport Division at Oriental Consultants Global Co., Ltd. (OC Global), delivered a special lecture.

The theme of this convention was “Building Global Partnerships, Bridging Boundaries and Fostering New Technologies Towards a More Resilient and Sustainable Development”. On the first day, Dr. Kenichi Tsukahara, Vice President of the Japan Society of Civil Engineers (JSCE) and Professor at Kyushu University, delivered a congratulatory address. Mr. Kazuya Endo, Ambassador of Japan to the Philippines, gave a welcome speech on the second day. There were over 9,000 participants at the venue, with participants joining online. Special lectures were also presented by the Public Works Research Institute of Japan, the Japan Railway Construction, Transport and Technology Agency, and private companies. Dr. Ohashi delivered a special lecture titled “Detailed Engineering Design (DED) of the Cebu-Mactan (4th) Bridge and Coastal Road Construction Project.”
At the Engineering Expo, held simultaneously, OC Global set up a booth in collaboration with Oriental Consultants Philippines, Inc. (OC Philippines), OC Global’s subsidiary in the Philippines. In addition to showcasing OC Global’s infrastructure projects worldwide, the booth introduced the Map Information Cloud Service “SOCOCA”, which was launched in the Philippines.
