Masatoki Nakanishi, Port & Harbor Department, received the Distinguished Service Award for Ports and Harbors

Fukuyama, JAPAN – On May 29, 2024, Mr. Masatoki Nakanishi, Senior Project Manager of the Port & Harbor Department at Oriental Consultants Global Co., Ltd. , received the Distinguished Service Award at the General Meeting of the Ports and Harbours Association of Japan, held in Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture. The award is given to those who have been engaged in port and harbor-related work for many years, and whose achievements are particularly outstanding and serve as a model for others.

Over the past 38 years, Mr. Nakanishi has been engaged in design and construction supervision consulting for numerous port and harbor projects, including the detailed design of the Port of Galle, Sri Lanka; the detailed design, tender assistance, and construction supervision of the Port of Nacala, Mozambique; and the detailed design and construction supervision of the Port of Toamasina, Madagascar. He has also made great efforts to train young engineers as a part-time lecturer at a Japanese university, where he has given lectures on special topics on development in developing countries.
