Tokyo, JAPAN – On April 25 and 26, 2024, Oriental Consultants Global Co., Ltd. participated in the Transit Oriented Development (TOD) Investment Forum, co-hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Japan (located in Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo), the Japan Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), and PT Mass Rapid Transit Jakarta (PT MRT Jakarta). The forum was attended by Indonesian government officials and business representatives, including Budi, Minister of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia; Heru, Acting Governor of Jakarta; and Heri, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Indonesia to Japan; as well as Japanese government officials and representatives from over 40 Japanese companies, including Mr. Ishibashi, Parliamentary Vice-Minister of MLIT.

At this seminar, keynote speeches were delivered on sustainable investment opportunities and the potential of TOD in Jakarta. Mr. Eiji Yonezawa, President and CEO of OC Global, presented a lecture titled “TOD Projects Involvement in DKI Jakarta.” Mr. Yonezawa discussed the wide range of technical services OC Global has implemented to date in Jakarta, as well as future promotion of TOD.

PT MRT Jakarta is the operating company for the Jakarta Provincial Mass Rapid Transit (MRT), and is also a public enterprise designated as the master developer for TOD along the MRT route by provincial governor’s decree. In July and November 2022, OC Global signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with PT MRT Jakarta regarding a strategic alliance for business creation in TOD within the Special Capital Region of Jakarta. At this forum, both parties also exchanged opinions on specific future joint projects.

OC Global will continue to contribute to the development of Indonesia as a trusted partner in promoting TOD with PT MRT Jakarta.
