At OC Global, employees from various nationalities and backgrounds thrive, and we work on projects in more than 150 countries and regions.
With the goal of helping our people reach their full potential, OC Global is committed to the inclusion of all our employees and actively promotes diversity, whatever a person’s attributes. We aim to create an environment in which employees around the world can choose the life–work balance that best suits their needs.
At OC Global, we put “life” ahead of “work” in the commonly used phrase “work–life balance”. By doing this, we hope to convey to our employees that they should prioritize their personal lives and carefully consider how they balance work with their lives outside of the office.
OC Global offers a wide range of support systems for its employees and their families.
These systems are essential for creating a work environment that is conducive to employee well-being and for helping them balance their personal and professional lives.

OC Global established the I&D (Inclusion & Diversity) Promotion Committee in October 2022. Through the activities of the Women’s Activity Promotion Study Committee — the predecessor of this committee, which operated from 2016 to 2022 — we learned that, for women to thrive, it is essential to create an environment that is comfortable for all employees, not just women. We also learned that that each individual employee, regardless of their attributes, can have a different way of working, path for growth, and means of motivation, so mutual respect and recognition are crucial. Through this experience, we decided to rename the group the I&D Promotion Committee to make it clear to all employees that they are included and valuable to our company. The committee is continuing its activities with a much broader scope.
Its activities to date have been wide-ranging, including planning and organizing career path sessions. It has also proposed new initiatives such as the establishment of an All-Purpose Career Consulting Service, where employees can seek advice from senior employees on career advancement and managing their work around different life events.
Employees are welcome to speak openly, about anything, at our company, and we work together to regularly come up with ideas to consider what we need to do to enable employees to continue working at OC Global for the long term.
The Eruboshi system, which is based on the Act on the Promotion of Women’s Active Engagement in Professional Life, certifies companies that meet specific criteria and have excellent conditions for promoting the participation of women. OC Global meets four of the five criteria for evaluating whether a workplace environment is conducive to enabling women to demonstrate their abilities. In 2018, we received the second-level certification. We are continuing to work on improving our workplace environment so that we can receive the highest level of certification, Platinum.
OC Global regularly holds career path sessions on various themes where senior employees speak about their experiences.
Many have found these sessions helpful as a model for improving their skills and shaping their future careers, as well as a reference for how they can manage work during future life events. These sessions have also been a great an opportunity for cross-departmental communication within the company.
In addition, we hold roundtable discussions for the child-rearing generation, where employees who are raising children meet to ask questions and discuss challenges they are facing. We also hold career path sessions about recurrent education, where we listen to the experiences of employees who have studied at universities in Japan and overseas, for master’s and doctoral courses, after entering the workforce.
In April 2018, as part of our efforts to promote the creation of jobs for, and employment of, people with disabilities, OC Global opened a plot of land at the Work Happiness Farm (in Hanamigawa Ward, Chiba Prefecture), where we employ people with disabilities. The vegetables harvested at the farm are sold at low prices to the community to promote healthy eating habits.
This initiative is also helping to address child poverty and revitalize the local community as we regularly donate vegetables to cafeterias that provide meals to children.
