On September 17, 2026, Mr. Yuichi Wakita from the Road Engineering Department of Oriental Consultants Global Co., Ltd. (OC Global), received the 45th Ozawa Overseas Service Award (Ozawa Kaigai Koro-Sho) at the General Meeting of the Association of Infrastructure Development Institute-Japan (IDI-Japan).

Established in 1980 through a contribution from the late Dr. Kyutaro Ozawa, the first President of IDI-Japan, the award commemorates his passion for international cooperation. It is awarded to individuals and corporations that have made significant contributions to cooperation in land development overseas.

Mr. Wakita has been engaged in infrastructure projects across various countries, including Indonesia, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Mozambique, for approximately 43 years. He has been involved in multiple stages of these projects, including feasibility studies, design, construction supervision, and project management consulting (PMC) services. Through infrastructure development centered on roads and bridges, he has contributed to the social and economic development of these nations.

This recent award is in recognition of his long-standing contributions to overseas infrastructure development. Furthermore, Mr. Wakita’s international activities were also recognized with the FY2024 International Lifetime Contribution Award from the Japan Society of Civil Engineers (JSCE).
