On July 1, 2026, Oriental Consultants Global Co., Ltd. (“OC Global”), in consortium with Transport Engineering Design Incorporated (TEDI) and CPG Vietnam Co., Ltd. (CPG), signed a contract with Masterise Aviation Infrastructure Joint Stock Company for airport infrastructure design services for the Gia Binh International Airport Project in Bac Ninh Province, Vietnam.

As the consortium leader, OC Global will be engaged in designing core airport infrastructure, including runways, taxiways, aprons, aeronautical ground lighting (AGL) systems, air navigation systems such as ILS/DME, intra-airport roads, bridges and tunnels, water supply and drainage, power supply, and telecommunications. Furthermore, through design integration and interface management utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM), OC Global will promote high-quality, efficient design across multiple facilities and engineering disciplines.

Positioned by the Vietnamese government as a nationally important project, this large-scale airport development is being spearheaded with the Prime Minister acting as the investment decision-maker. Embracing the slogan “The Gateway to Vietnam’s Future,” Gia Binh International Airport aims to establish a new aviation and logistics hub for Northern Vietnam and the surrounding region, marking the country’s first large-scale privately developed international airport.

Located approximately 40 kilometers northeast of central Hanoi, the airport is planned to comply with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Code 4F standard. The development plan outlines a handling capacity of 30 million passengers and 1.6 million tons of cargo annually by 2030, increasing to 50 million passengers and 2.5 million tons of cargo annually by 2050. Over the long term, the facility is envisioned to accommodate a passenger demand of up to 100 million annually.

Moreover, the airport is positioned as the centerpiece of a comprehensive regional development concept that includes a multimodal transport hub, a free trade zone, an industrial park, and urban development. It is expected to significantly contribute to the economic growth and enhanced international connectivity of Northern Vietnam.

In recent years, Vietnam has seen a surge in large-scale infrastructure development driven by domestic private capital, complementing traditional Official Development Assistance (ODA) projects. Against this backdrop, this contract represents a vital milestone for OC Global, symbolizing a full-scale entry into non-ODA, large-scale airport projects in Vietnam.
