From July 6 to 10, 2026, Mr. Yuma Tsumura, Manager, and Ms. Ong Yu Shuen of the Transport Planning & ICT Department, Planning Division, at Oriental Consultants Global Co., Ltd. (OC Global) took the stage at the 17th World Conference on Transport Research (WCTR 2026), held in Toulouse, France.

Mr. Tsumura presented his research findings in a presentation titled “Mobility Equity and Activity Diversity: Evidence from Kinshasa City, Democratic Republic of the Congo,” while Ms. Ong presented her research findings in a presentation titled “Synergistic Effects of Access to High-Speed Rail and Airports on Local Land Prices: A Case Study of Japan.”

In addition to explaining their research findings, both speakers answered questions and exchanged views with participants. The presentations provided a valuable opportunity for discussions on the future application of their findings in both research and practice. Mr. Tsumura’s paper also received the “Topic Area H Prize (Transport in Developing and Emerging Countries),” an outstanding paper award.

The World Conference on Transport Research (WCTR) is an international academic conference that brings together researchers, government officials, transport operators, and other transportation professionals from around the world to discuss a broad range of research findings, policies, and practical issues in the field of transportation and to share their knowledge and experience. Held every three years since its inaugural conference in 1977, it is one of the world’s largest academic events in the field of transportation. The 17th conference was held at Université Toulouse Capitole in Toulouse, France, and was attended by approximately 1,500 transportation researchers and practitioners from around the world.
