Oriental Consultants Global Co., Ltd. (OC Global; Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; CEO, President: Mr. Eiji Yonezawa) has launched a crowdfunding campaign for the Côte d’Ivoire–Japan Children’s Art Festival in collaboration with JP MOMENT INC. and the General Directorate of Decentralization and Local Development (DGDDL) of Côte d’Ivoire’s Ministry of Interior and Security.

The campaign will run from July 10 to September 13, 2026, with a fundraising goal of JPY 2.5 million. All funds raised will be used to cover the operating costs of the Côte d’Ivoire–Japan Children’s Art Festival.

In rural areas of Côte d’Ivoire, many children have limited opportunities to experience art and creative expression. Education focuses primarily on basic academic learning, and many communities lack adequate environments where children can draw, express themselves freely, and develop their creativity.
Art is more than a form of entertainment. It is a vital pillar of education that nurtures:
 the ability to express one’s thoughts and feelings;
 the ability to develop unique perspectives through creativity; and
 self-esteem and hope for the future.
The Côte d’Ivoire–Japan Children’s Art Festival was conceived to give children in rural areas opportunities to express their own world, realize their potential, and connect with their communities and the wider world.

■Events in Côte d’Ivoire
・Art Competition
Art competitions will be held for students in the fifth and sixth years of primary school in four local government areas, and a total of 20 finalists will be selected. The 20 finalists will receive certificates and trophies, as well as Japanese-made art supplies as special prizes. The submitted works will also be exhibited at a prestigious gallery in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire’s largest city.
・Art Journey
The 20 finalists will be invited to participate in a four-day “Art Journey” to Abidjan.
In Abidjan, they will visit the prestigious gallery where their works are being exhibited and participate in a watercolor painting workshop led by one of Côte d’Ivoire’s leading artists. Five artists will also serve as judges and present awards for outstanding works.
■Events in Japan
・Art Competition
An art competition will be held for primary school students in Japan.
・Art Exhibition
Works submitted by children in Japan will be exhibited in Japan alongside works created by children in Côte d’Ivoire.
・Art Workshop
A renowned Ivorian artist will be invited to Japan to conduct an art workshop.
