Dhaka, BANGLADESH – On July 2, 2026, a memorial ceremony was held in the Dhaka Metro Rail Urban Railway Exhibition and Information Center to remember the victims of the Dhaka terrorist attack, which occurred ten years ago.

At the ceremony, Dr. Akihiko Tanaka, President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and Mr. Tomoaki Shimada, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, offered their words of tribute. Representing Bangladesh, the Managing Director, the Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited; the Director General, East Asia and Pacific Wing, Ministry of Foreign Affairs; the Additional Secretary and Wing Chief (America & Japan), Economic Relations Division, Ministry of Finance; and the Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges attended the ceremony and offered their words of tribute.
