In the first part, Dr. Abe comments on Japan’s strengths, challenges, and key considerations in the country’s overseas infrastructure development, drawing on her experience with metro projects in India, including the Delhi Metro Project, in which she has been involved.

In the second part, she reflects on her own path, describing what inspired her to pursue a career as a civil engineer and the professional journey she has taken to date, and discusses the roles and potentials of women in the overseas expansion of infrastructure systems.
