Certificate of appreciation

The Guacirope Bridge, located on the Pan-American Highway (PAH), which connects the countries of Central America, was originally constructed in 1943 and had deteriorated severely over time. With the support of a grant aid program, the bridge was reconstructed, and the new structure opened in April 2025. Its opening is expected to promote economic development along the PAH in southern Honduras, facilitate smoother cargo transportation with Nicaragua and El Salvador, and contribute to regional logistics throughout Central America.

The bridge’s structural design consists of a steel through arch (Langer girder bridge) for the main span and PC box girders for the side spans. Weathering steel was used to enhance durability and improve future maintenance efficiency. Construction was carried out by Hazama Ando Corporation, completing the bridge through an all-Japan collaboration. In addition, our local subsidiary, OC LATIN AMERICA, S.A., worked in cooperation with group companies to provide construction
