OC Global Participates in Mental Health Seminar Hosted by ECFA
Tokyo, JAPAN – On July 15, 2025, a Mental Health Seminar, organized by the Safety Measures Subcommittee of the Engineering and Consulting Firms Association, Japan (ECFA), was held at the Nippon Koei meeting room. Ms. Rika Maeda of the certified NPO Mental Rescue Association served as the lecturer. Through group work, participants gained practical knowledge on how to respond to mental health issues, and deepened their understanding of the fundamental concepts that companies should be familiar with regarding mental health.
This seminar was held with the objective of equipping participants with practical methods to respond to severe stress that may arise from experiencing critical incidents, such as large-scale disasters, serious accidents, or violent crimes—situations that pose a threat to life. The aim was to help minimize risks to both employees and companies. It marks the first initiative of its kind within the development consulting industry. A total of 98 participants attended the seminar, including employees from 35 member companies as well as safety management officers from the International Cooperation Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan (MOFA) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The event featured active discussions and exchange of views.
Mr. Eiji Yonezawa, President and CEO of Oriental Consultants Global Co., Ltd. (OC Global), supported the organization of the seminar as President of ECFA. Mr. Yasuhiro Shimonuri, General Manager of the Security Management Office at OC Global, also supported the seminar as Chair of the ECFA Safety Measures Subcommittee.
