On October 23, 2024, Dr. Reiko Abe, Ph.D., Executive Officer of Oriental Consultants Global Co., Ltd. (OC Global) and Representative Director and Chairperson of Oriental Consultants India Private Ltd. (OC India), spoke at the JICA Global Plaza’s 2024 online seminar on development education. Approximately 90 people attended the seminar online, including teachers, school education staff, students, and those interested in international understanding education and development education.

Dr. Reiko Abe Giving a Lecture Online from India

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) offers a variety of training programs for teachers who are interested in international understanding education and development education. This seminar, held as part of the 70^th anniversary of international cooperation, is a six-part series with the theme of “A Learning Journey Connecting with the World from a Radius of 3 Meters.” The speakers are the authors of the Project History (JICA Ogata Research Institute). Dr. Abe appeared at the fourth seminar in the series, “Infrastructure Development,” as the author of “Madam, This is Our Metro!—India and Japan Committed to a Better World & Future.”

Dr. Abe introduced her experience working on railway projects in India, and lectured on the impact of infrastructure development on society in India. During the Q&A session, there were various questions, such as about life and culture in India, why she chose to pursue a career in civil engineering, and the rewards of being involved in infrastructure development overseas.

OC Global supports the promotion of understanding of international cooperation and infrastructure development through various lectures.
