The LRT Jakarta, operated by PT Jakarta Propertindo (Perseroda), commenced service in the Phase 1 section, which connects the Pegangsaan Dua Station to the Velodrome Station, in December 2019. The project which the running ceremony was held for is for the extension between Velodrome and Manggarai Stations (approx. 6.4 km in length, all elevated, 5 stations). The joint operation is responsible for reviewing of the basic engineering design, preparing bidding documents, providing tender assistance service, and construction supervision. By utilizing the 4D functions of Building Information Modeling (BIM) in the detailed engineering design and construction supervision, the project successfully achieved significant results in a short period by streamlining the design, reducing construction risks, and optimizing scheduling management. The completion of the entire sections is scheduled for the end of August 2026, while the extension work from Manggarai Station to Dukuh Atas Station is planned in the future. There are also plans to extend the line northwards to form an inner loop line. The project contributes to alleviating the worsening traffic congestion in Jakarta’s capital city by connecting the city’s northeastern and central areas via LRT, thus enhancing mobility for local residents and realizing an environmentally friendly transportation society.
