Capacity Enhancement Training for Updating Revised Strategic Transport Plan (URSTP) for Dhaka Bangladesh
Oriental Consultants Global Co., Ltd. (OC Global), the lead company for the project, “Updating Revised Strategic Transport Plan (URSTP) for Dhaka,” conducted a capacity enhancement training from 28 January to 3 February 2024, in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) supported the training, which was attended by approximately 30 members from various organizations, including the Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority (DTCA), Roads and Highways Department (RHD) of the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges, Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC)/Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK), and Bangladesh Railway (BR).

In this training, OC Global’s Transport Planning & ICT Department’s Mr. Wachi Tomokazu, Mr. Kawaguchi Hirohisa, Mr. Akiho Keisuke, and Mr. Moriwaki Takatoshi participated as lecturers. They conducted lectures on the entire process of constructing transportation demand forecasting models, incorporating exercises using the transportation demand forecasting specialized software, TransCAD. Mr. A.B.M. Amin Ullah Nuri, Secretary of the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges, attended the opening ceremony, while Ms. Neelima Akhter, Director-General of the Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority (DTCA), participated in the closing ceremony.
