The objective of this project is construction of boreholes located in the 226 villages where guinea worm is endemic. The objective was to supply at least one hand pump per 250 people.
(1) Investigate the groundwater flow mechanism and groundwater recharge mechanism in the Stampriet Artesian Basin, (2) evaluate the groundwater potential for sustainable development, (3) formulate a groundwater management plan for the area, and (4) perform technology transfer to counterpart personnel.
Review of feasibility study and basic design for a sewerage system in Khan Younis, including (1) a wastewater treatment plant with oxidation ditch process (Q=5,200 m3/d), (2) two pumping stations, (3) sewer network (φ200-1100: 21.6 km) to cover 194 ha, population of 40,000.
Detail design, supervision and monitoring of construction of new water supply facilities, two different treated systems; activated sludge for 5 plants and activated sludge + up-flow anaerobic sludge blanket for 2 plants based on the technically and economically appropriate treatment process (total 245,000 cu.m/day).
Review of design, assistance of tender process and construction supervision for normalization of Semarang River, improvement of Asin drainage system, and improvement of Bandarharjo drainage system in Semarang City.
