The tourist city of Luang Prabang in Laos is one of the 26 cities that are striving to promote projects through collaboration with private enterprises and foreign countries under the ASEAN Smart City Network (ASCN). In 2019, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan established the Japan ASEAN Smart City Network public-private council (JASCA), with the aim of disseminating Japan’s technology and experience to ASCN cities and building relationships with partner countries. Afterwards, Japan proposed the framework for cooperating towards the development of smart cities in ASEAN, called Smart JAMP, which was welcomed by each country and city. Luang Prabang was the first target city of this. The project is expected to promote initiatives that will lead to the overseas expansion of Japanese companies.
The goal of the project was to develop the master plan of smart city development in Luang Prabang City, and OC Global mainly delivered the following services:
